PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Bucknell men's tennis player Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) finished the three-day Brown Invitational competition by winning the flight four final Sunday afternoon, defeating Brian Garber of Boston College, 6-1, 7-5 in the semifinal and Villanova's Sean Daly 6-2, 6-3 in the final.

Jonathan Brenner (Manhasset, N.Y./Chaminade) competed in the back draw of the flight three singles. He dropped UConn's Joe Goldstein 6-2, 6-0 and defeated Marshall Wheeler of Colgate 6-0, 6-4 for ninth place in flight three. Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Country Day-Upper) notched a 13th-place finish in the flight one back draw downing Ben Schueler of UConn and Arthur Labanek of Carlton, 6-0, 6-0, respectively.

Ben Young (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) lost his flight six main draw semifinal matchup to Nate Carvalho from UConn, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3. Sidharth Makkar (Queens, N.Y./Bronx School of Science) fell to Montreal's Maciek Zarzycki 6-3, 4-6, 3-6, in the main draw semifinal match of flight seven.

In flight 2 singles, Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) was victorious over Colgate's Martin MacIntyre 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (7-4), but came up short in the fifth-place final to Assumption's Matt Stopp, 6-4, 0-6, (6-10). Daniel Bednarek (Haworth, N.J./Bergen Catholic) downed Miroslav Piven of Fairleigh Dickinson 6-2, 6-1, in the flight five back draw. He would fall in the fifth-place final to Boston College's Brian Hartness, 6-2, 6-3.

The Bucknell men's tennis team will be back in action Saturday Oct. 7, when they host the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa.
