LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell’s Lisa Jouravleva has been named the Patriot League Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after going unbeaten in both singles and doubles competition last week. She is the second player to earn the award for the Bison this season.
Jouravleva won both of her singles matches on court three, starting with a 6-5, 7-6 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson’s Marta Ruszczynska. She followed that by edging LIU Brooklyn’s Jennifer Gogova 6-4, 2-6, 7-6. The Bison junior is 4-0 in singles this spring, with three of those wins coming in three sets.
Teaming with Emilie Bush, Jouravleva also won both of her matches at No. 2 doubles. The duo won by 6-2 scores in matches against Fairfield and LIU Brooklyn.
Jouravleva is the second award winner in three weeks for Bucknell. Sophomore Lauren Fishbein was named the Player of the Week on Feb. 28.
Bucknell is 7-4 on the season. The Bison open conference play with a match at Colgate on Saturday at noon.
