VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Bucknell women’s tennis team saw its five-match winning streak come to an end with a 4-0 loss at Villanova on Tuesday. The Bison dropped to 10-5 overall.
The Wildcats, who improved to 6-7, took two of the three doubles matches and clinched the victory with wins in three singles contests.
“It’s not what we wanted in terms of execution,” Bucknell head coach Rebecca Helt said. “Villanova plays aggressive tennis, and we were on our heels too much.”
Koch and Bush remained unbeaten in doubles this season, improving to 5-0.
Lisa Jouravleva was playing well in her match against Lexi DeNucci. The Bison senior was leading 6-3, 3-2 when the match was halted.
Bucknell looks to stay unbeaten in league play when it travels to play Lafayette on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
