LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell’s Karen Campbell received her second conference honor in as many days on Wednesday, as she was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team. She is the second player to earn the award in Anna Allison’s three seasons as the Bison head coach.

A Dean’s list student, Campbell carries a 3.54 GPA as a double major in education and psychology. She is a two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and has served as a Near Peer Mentor at Eichhorn Middle School in Lewisburg.

On Tuesday, Campbell was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team. She earned two Player of the Week awards from the league this season. At the conclusion of the regular season, she ranked second in the Patriot League in blocks/set (1.15) and fifth in both hitting percentage (.345) and kills/set (3.01). She tallied double-digit kills in 17 of the team’s 26 matches and hit over .400 on nine occasions.

Campbell was joined on the Academic All-Patriot League Team by American’s Monika Smidova, Sarah Katz and Kristyna Lindovska, Holy Cross’s Mandy Sifferlen, Lehigh’s Leah Turner and Navy’s Rachel Fortner. Smidova, a graduate student majoring in finance, was named the Patriot League Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the third consecutive season.

Campbell helped Bucknell finish 14-12 overall, its best record since the 2006 season. The Bison won their final three matches of the year to finish 8-8 in the Patriot League.
