LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Sophie Bullard was named the season’s first Patriot League Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday. She earned the award after leading the Bison to the title at the Bucknell Invitational with a 3-0 record over the weekend.
In addition to the award from the Patriot League, Bullard was named the season’s first Bison Athlete of the Week.
Bullard notched three-straight double-doubles in wins over La Salle, Iona, and Saint Peter’s, totaling 46 kills (3.54 k/s) and 38 digs (2.92 d/s) while hitting .319. She also posted five service aces and seven total blocks.
Bullard is the first Bucknell player to earn the award since Karen Campbell following the final week of the 2015 regular season.
Joining Bullard on the seven-player Bucknell Invitational All-Tournament Team was sophomore Mimi Richards.
Bucknell returns to action this weekend with three matches at the Hatter Invitational in DeLand, Fla. The Bison will play Providence and ECU on Saturday, and Stetson on Sunday.
