LORETTO, Pa. – Bucknell volleyball opened the Red Flash Classic with a 3-0 loss to host Saint Francis on Friday evening at DeGol Arena. Despite the loss, the Bison are at .500 for the season with a 5-5 record, while the Red Flash improved to 5-6.

The Bison were competitive in all three sets, but couldn’t get a run going, falling 25-21, 25-23, 25-20.

Senior Luz Nagle paced the Bison with 25 assists, while sophomore Brooke Stark led the team with 18 digs. Sophomores Mimi Richards and Sophie Bullard chipped in with 10 kills apiece.

Saint Francis was carried to victory by strong performances from a pair of players. Emily Marcinowski hit .481 and had a double-double with 18 kills and 11 digs. Kelsey Rough finished with 16 kills on .361 hitting and added nine digs.

Bucknell still holds a large lead in the all-time series against Saint Francis, dropping to 29-8.

The Bison wrap up play at the event Saturday with matches against Morehead State (11:30 a.m.) and Norfolk State (2 p.m.).
