WASHINGTON, D.C. – Bucknell volleyball closed its season with a 3-0 loss to Patriot League regular season champion American, but was able to finish at least .500 for the second time in three years with a 14-14 overall record and an 8-8 mark in the league. The Eagles improved to 24-7 overall and 15-1 in the conference, winning 25-14, 25-10, 25-22.

Senior Stefanie Alpert ended her Bucknell career with a solid match, totaling eight kills with a .533 hitting percentage. Seniors Celeste Barker and Luz Nagle also played their final match for the Bison. Barker contributed two blocks, while Nagle had 11 assists.

Bucknell finished just one match back of the fourth and final spot in the Patriot League Tournament and returns a large portion of its starting lineup next season.

Sophomore Mimi Richards finished the season with a program record 121 block assists. That is 16 more than the second most on the list. She was also second on the team this year with 256 kills, which came with a .305 hitting percentage.

Aleksandra Kazala did most of the damage for American in the win, totaling 17 kills on .483 hitting. Kennedy Etheridge had 45 of the team’s 47 assists.

Bucknell’s 14 wins matched the 2015 team for the highest total in the past 11 seasons.
