LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior outfielder Sam Clark and junior pitcher Connor Van Hoose earned American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Division I All-East Region honors, announced by the organization on Wednesday. Clark received First Team recognition, while Van Hoose landed a spot on the Second Team.
Clark, a two-time First Team All-Patriot League selection, led the Bison this season in batting average (.318), home runs (9), RBIs (37), total bases (98) and slugging percentage (.547), all of which ranked in the top-10 of the Patriot League. The third baseman led the squad with 20 multi-hit outings and 10 multi-RBI performances.
A Patriot League All-Tournament Team honoree, Clark concluded his Bison career as a .276 hitter with 31 doubles, 12 home runs and 59 runs scored. He ranks 11th all-time in games played (162) and games started (151), 15th in doubles (31) and 20th in hits (151).
Van Hoose, a unanimous First Team All-Patriot League selection, was Bucknell's No. 1 starter this season, posting a 6-6 record on the mound while leading the pitching staff in ERA (2.28), innings pitched (83.0) and strikeouts (97). His ERA and strikeouts led the Patriot League, while his strikeout total was the second-most in a single season in Bucknell history. Recently named to the All-ECAC Second Team, the right-hander tossed four complete games, including a three-hitter in a win over regular season champion Navy in game one of the Patriot League Tournament Semifinal Series.
Bucknell finished the year 21-28, falling to Holy Cross in the Patriot League Championship Series, its first appearance since 2014.
