LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell junior center Nana Foulland and sophomore guard Kimbal Mackenzie were named to the Academic All-Patriot League Men’s Basketball Team on Wednesday. Foulland, who was selected as the Patriot League Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year earlier in the week, earns All-Academic honors for the second year in a row. Mackenzie was also a Third Team All-Patriot League pick.

This is the second straight year and fourth time since the inception of the All-Academic Team in 2011 that Bucknell has claimed two of the five spots on the squad. To be eligible, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and have reached their sophomore year.

Foulland is the only repeat member of the All-Patriot League Team. He carries a 3.23 GPA while majoring in history. This week he joined another Bison center, Mike Muscala, as the only players in league history to sweep the Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Foulland, also a First Team All-Patriot League selection, ranks 13th nationally in field-goal percentage (.625) and leads the Patriot League in blocked shots at 1.9 per game. He also ranks eighth in the league in scoring (14.8) and second in rebounding (7.9). Foulland has 10 double-doubles and six 20-point games this season.

Mackenzie, and economics major with a 3.52 GPA, has been one of the league’s most improved players in his second collegiate season. He upped his scoring average from 4.6 points per game as a freshman to 11.4 this season, and that figure vaults to 13.4 ppg against league opponents. Mackenzie is shooting 47.0 percent from the field, 40.3 percent from 3-point range and 81.4 percent from the foul line.

American’s Charlie Jones was named the 2017 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men’s basketball. Mac Hoffman of Army West Point and Nick Lindner of Lafayette joined Foulland, Mackenzie and Jones on the Academic All-Patriot League Team.

Bucknell (23-8, 15-3 PL) is the No. 1 seed for the Patriot League Tournament. The Bison will host No. 8 Army West Point on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Sojka Pavilion.
