LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell University Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, Learfield’s Bison Sports Properties, announced today an expanded partnership with Matty's Sporthouse Grill located along Route 15 in Lewisburg.

Beginning this fall, Matty's will serve as the new home for the Bucknell Gridiron Club weekly football luncheons, as well as the home for the Bucknell Backcourt Club men's basketball luncheons during the 2017-18 hardwood season.

“We are thrilled to partner with the folks at Matty's Sporthouse Grill to help promote our football and basketball programs,” said Bison Club Director Todd Newcomb. “The clubhouse setup there, complete with the large screens and great technology, should really give our luncheons a new and exciting feel. We encourage everyone in the community to come out and support Bison athletics and Matty’s Sporthouse Grill.”

The football luncheons will be held each Wednesday during the 2017 gridiron season. The first luncheon is on Aug. 30, with the season finale on Nov. 15. The weekly event is open to the public and starts at 12 p.m. The cost is $10 per person and will feature comments from head coach Joe Susan and select Bison players, as well as video highlights each week. In addition, several door prizes ranging from game tickets to apparel will be raffled off at each luncheon.

“Matty’s Sporthouse Grill has been a proud supporter of Bucknell Athletics for several years, and we look forward to expanding our partnership with them starting this fall,” said Matty’s Sporthouse Grill Owner Chris Baylor. “Our team here is excited to host the Bucknell Gridiron and Backcourt Clubs throughout both seasons to enhance the fan experience. GO BISON!”

The basketball luncheons follow the same format as the football luncheons but are held four times throughout the course of the hardwood season. Those dates will be announced after the men's 2017-18 schedule is officially released.

According to Mike Trudnak, general manager for Bison Sports Properties, “We always strive to align great partners with Bucknell, and Matty’s has been a tremendous business that has chosen to back the Bison for many years now. We appreciate their support and know the fans will enjoy having the luncheons here.”
