LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell sophomore Kaitlyn Slagus was named The Rock Patriot League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week on Tuesday. She earned the award after nearly posting a triple-double in a 69-64 win over Manhattan, helping the Bison close their non-conference schedule with an 8-3 record.

Slagus recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds while adding a career-high eight assists, five blocks, and four steals with no turnovers. She is the only player in the Patriot League averaging a double-double with 14.2 points and 10.5 rebounds.

It is the second Player of the Week honor of the season and the third career for Slagus. She received the award the previous week after finishing with 17 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks, and three steals in a win over Cleveland State.

Bucknell has won three Player of the Week awards this year. Senior Sune Swart received the honor after the opening week of the season.

The Bison open conference play at home against Navy on Friday at 6 p.m. They are 45-15 at Sojka Pavilion in Roussell’s five seasons, including an 18-1 record dating back to the beginning of last season.
