LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell’s Catherine Romaine is known for her versatility on the basketball court, but it looks as if it extends beyond the court, as well. The senior was voted to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, as released by the conference office on Tuesday.

Romaine, a biology major with a 3.61 GPA, is an undergraduate research assistant in the Department of Psychology and is currently studying for the MCAT to be able to attend medical school. Additionally, she serves as a tutor and a study group facilitator. Despite an already packed schedule, the Dean’s List student has volunteered as a companion for A Helping Hand, as well as numerous other organizations with the Bison team.

Romaine’s basketball prowess was solidified with a spot on the Patriot League All-Defensive Team at the conclusion of the regular season, but she has played a key role in all facets of the game for the Bison. She is averaging 5.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and has tallied 24 steals and 22 blocks. The 2.0 assists per game are the most by any post player in the league this season.

Most recently, Romaine led Bucknell to a 67-53 win over Holy Cross in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League Tournament, finishing with nine points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block.

Bucknell has had a player voted to the Academic All-Patriot League Team in eight consecutive seasons, including all six years with Aaron Roussell as head coach.
