LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women’s basketball starts postseason play tonight, but the Bison managed to squeeze in one last weekly award before they get started. Junior Kaitlyn Slagus was voted The Rock Patriot League Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Slagus, whose previous career-high scoring effort was 22 points – needed 24 to reach the 1,000-point career scoring milestone heading into the final game of the season at Army West Point. She accomplished the feat with 25 points and added nine rebounds to lead the Bison to a 75-55 win.
Slagus had 12 points entering the fourth quarter before erupting for 13 more in the win over the Black Knights. She will be honored with commemorative ball before tonight’s Patriot League quarterfinal game against Holy Cross at Sojka Pavilion.
