CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Bucknell's Reed Malas was selected as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Malas captured his first career Patriot League weekly award after recording a game-high four points (3g-1a) during the Bison's 10-7 victory over then No. 15/20 Army West Point.

During the third quarter, Malas completed his hat trick in an eight-minute span to turn a 3-3 deadlock into a 6-4 Bucknell advantage. The junior midfielder has nine points (6g-3a) in the Bison's past two games, both victories over ranked foes.

Malas, who has registered at least one point in all 10 of Bucknell's games, ranks fourth on the team with 23 (14g-9a). He needs just two points to eclipse his previous single-season high, set in 2017.

Malas is the fifth Bison to earn Patriot League weekly accolades this season. Will Sands is a four-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week while Lukas Munoz and Matt Gilray were recognized as the Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks. Christian Klipstein garnered Goalkeeper of the Week laurels after Bucknell's upset at then No. 18/20 Colgate.

The Bison, who climbed to 14th in both the USILA Coaches' Poll and Inside Lacrosse Maverik Media Listing, close non-conference play this week by traveling to No. 3 Yale and hosting Mount St. Mary's. After facing off against the Bulldogs on Wednesday, April 4 at 7 p.m., they return home for the first time in four games to take on the Mountaineers on Saturday, April 7 at 7 p.m.
