For the third time in the season's first four weeks, Sands was honored as the Offensive Player of the Week. Klipstein earned his first Goalkeeper of the Week nod of the 2018 campaign.
Sands factored into seven of the Bison's 13 goals, netting three and assisting on four more. During the game, the senior reached three career milestones. Most notably, he became only the fifth Bison to register 100 assists in his career; he now boasts 103. He also moved to fourth in school history in career points (195) and entered a tie for 10th in career goals (92).
Klipstein made 12 saves, including five in the second half with Bucknell defending a lead. He was instrumental in helping the Bison hold the Raiders nearly eight goals under their season average. He also collected two ground balls.
Sands was previously recognized as the Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 12 and Feb. 5 following eight-point outings against Bryant and Marist respectively. On the strength of his hot start, he currently ranks second in the NCAA in both points (27) and assists (17).
This is Klipstein's fifth career Goaltender of the Week award. A three-time honoree in 2015, he was most recently honored on March 20, 2016 after stopping 16 shots in a 12-6 victory at No. 15 Boston University.
Klipstein, Sands and the Bison return to action on Saturday, March 3 by hosting Navy at 1 p.m.
