Anna Wills ’17 is set to begin her first season as an assistant on the field hockey coaching staff. She returns to the Bison after recently wrapping up a prolific four-year playing career with the Bison.
Wills earned two First Team All-Patriot League accolades and added a Second Team NFHCA All-Region award as a senior while playing for Bucknell. She started 60 of the 67 games while leading the team’s defensive effort. Additionally, she was a mainstay on the Bison’s penalty corner offense, tallying 20 points on eight goals and four assists.
In addition to her skills on the field, Wills was an established leader. A captain her senior season, she was a three-time Academic All-Patriot League selection, four-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, and a four-time member of the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
“Anna was a model student-athlete for our program over the last four years, and I enjoyed watching her leadership and mentorship role within the group grow as her career progressed,” Cook said. “In her new role, I expect nothing less. She'll be an incredible resource for our current-student athletes as they face the exact same day-to-day challenges she faced. Her countless positive relationships with faculty on campus will be huge for all of us, and her knowledge of our on field structures and expectations should make for a seamless transition.”
