LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell men's soccer first-year midfielder Matt Thorsheim was named the Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday after he set up the game-tying goal late in regulation in the team's 1-1 tie at Robert Morris on Saturday. Thorsheim, who earned his first career award from the Patriot League, has started all five games this season and has a goal and two assists.
Thorsheim's cross set up teammate Nick King for the equalizer with just 5:48 remaining in regulation in Saturday's draw at Robert Morris. Thorsheim also attempted three shots in the match, two of them on frame. Both of Thorsheim's assists this season have come on goals by King, and the duo shares the team lead with four points through five games.
Bucknell is now 2-2-1 on the season, and the Bison are just one game into a four-game road swing. They will play at St. Peter's on Tuesday before traveling to Lafayette on Saturday for the start of Patriot League play.
