LEWISBURG, Pa. – As the Bucknell men’s soccer team prepares for Tuesday’s Patriot League Tournament quarterfinal game, it was announced on Monday that seniors Zack Rockmore and Sebastiaan Blickman, along with freshman Nick King were named to All-Patriot League Teams.
Rockmore earned First Team All-Patriot League honors, picking up all-league accolades for the second consecutive season. Blickman received Second Team All-Patriot League honors while King was named Third Team All-Patriot League, as both players earned all-league citations for the first time in their careers.
Rockmore has been a pillar at center back for the Bison since his arrival to Lewisburg. The tri-captain has started all 19 contests this season, playing the full distance 16 times. He earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors earlier in the year following a strong defensive effort in the Bison’s first victory at Navy since 2011.
In addition to his strong work defensively, he has also scored three goals, including game-winners against Sacred Heart and the Midshipmen.
Blickman has been one of the Patriot League’s most prolific strikers. The senior leads the conference with career-highs in points (23) and goals (10), including goals in the last three matches. Blickman recorded Bucknell’s first hat-trick since 2008 in a contest at Colgate, earning Patriot League Midfielder of the Week honors. He found the back of the net 22 seconds into the Bison’s 2-1 victory at Army West Point to help Bucknell secure a postseason bid for the fifth consecutive season. Blickman enters the postseason with 44 career points on 18 goals and eight assists.
King becomes the first Bucknell freshman since Chris Thorsheim in 2012 to earn an All-Patriot League citation. The rookie immediately saw the field upon arriving to Lewisburg, starting in all 19 matches. King has recorded four goals and seven assists for 15 points, good for second most on the team, while his seven assists rank second in the Patriot League. He earned rookie of the week honors after recording a trio of assists in a win over Howard, becoming the first Bison to record three or most assists since Tommy McCabe in 2010.
Bucknell has now had multiple All-Patriot League selections every year since 2002.
At 7-10-2 overall and 4-4-1 in the Patriot League, the Bison are seeded fifth in the Patriot League Tournament. They will take on fourth-seeded Boston University in the quarterfinals in Boston on Tuesday night.
