LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men’s soccer freshman Patrick Mahoney was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.
Mahoney scored the decisive goal in the Bison’s 2-1 victory at Army West Point on Saturday. With 43 seconds remaining in the first half, the freshman found the back of the net off a free kick from Andrew Leischner, helping Bucknell secure a spot in the Patriot League Tournament.
Mahoney has appeared in all 19 contests, including 15 starts in his first year as a Bison. The rookie has recorded three goals and two assists for eight points, good for third on the team.
