LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior Will Carter has been named Fifth Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week Monday, following a strong performance in his first-ever trip to the IC4A Indoor Championships at Boston University.
Carter earned All-East honors in two events to pace the Bison men at the postseason meet. Carter received his first All-East citation in the long jump. A Second Team All-Patriot League selection in the event, the senior finished sixth with a leap of 23-4 ¾.
Carter earned his second All-East honor in the 200-meter. The school record holder in the event, Carter took fourth with a time of 21.52.
Many know Carter for his play on the football field, as he is the program’s all-time leader in receptions (195) and receiving yards (2,744), but Carter has begun to make his presence known on the track. In addition to holding the school record in the 200m, the two-sport student-athlete finished the indoor campaign with top-five program marks in the 60m (6.92) and the long jump (24-1).
Overall, Carter was one of seven Bison to earn All-East accolades. Nicholas Lombardo earned All-East honors in the long jump, while Luke Giugliano earned the citation in the 5,000m. A 4x8 relay team comprised of Kyle Adams, Sean Conway, Jordan Jackson and Scott Gulizio earned All-East status in the event.
Bucknell opens its outdoor season Mar. 25 at the Jim Taylor Invitational.
