LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior Charlotte Brace (Winnetka, Ill./The Lawrenceville School) has been named to the Women’s Rowing Academic All-Patriot League Team, the league office announced Friday. It is the first Academic All-Patriot League honor of Brace’s career.
Brace was a member of Bucknell’s second varsity eight at last week’s Patriot League Championship, rowing in the five seat. The boat won both its heat and final to take home its first gold medal at the league championship since 2011. Bucknell finished in third place in the team standings, marking its 11th consecutive top-three finish at the competitive event.
A two-time Patriot League participant, Brace was also part of the second varsity eight that placed second in the petite final at Eastern Sprints and rowed in the bow seat of the varsity eight that placed seventh in the Knecht Cup semifinal this spring.
A CRCA National Scholar-Athlete in both 2014 and 2015, Brace is a computer science and engineering major who will be part of this weekend’s 166th Bucknell University Commencement ceremony.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key player in his or her sport. Freshmen are not eligible for the honor. For women’s rowing, a student-athlete must have competed at the recent Patriot League Championship.
