LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Academic All-Patriot League Team was released by the conference office on Thursday, and the Bucknell field hockey team had multiple players honored for the seventh straight year. Senior Anna Wills and freshman Nicole Rupnik represented the Bison on the 11-player squad.

Wills joins former players Tayler Siegrist (2009-12) and Abby Watson (2012-15) as Bison players to be named Academic All-Patriot League the maximum three times during their career. A double major in political science and English-film studies, she carries an impressive 3.86 GPA. She is three-time member of both the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, and is an active participant in the Bucknell Bison Leadership Institute.

Wills led a Bucknell defense that posted a league-best six shutouts this season, while also contributing on offense with seven points on three goals and one assist. Two of her goals were game-winners against conference opponents. For her career, Wills has totaled 20 points on eight goals and four assists. She is a two-time First Team All-Patriot League selection.

Rupnik has been impressive on and off the field through almost two seasons with the Bison. She has a perfect 4.0 GPA as a biology major and leads the team this season in both goals with eight and points with 18. Her goals total ranks third in the conference, while her point total puts her in sixth. Rupnik was named an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction in 2015 for posting a 4.0 GPA during the competition season and went on to earn Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad honors.

Rupnik has been an outstanding offensive player in each of her first two seasons. She has 15 career goals and 33 points. At her current pace she would crack the top-10 of Bucknell’s career lists in both categories.

Bucknell opens the Patriot League Tournament with a semifinal matchup at top-seeded and 14th-ranked Boston University on Friday at 1 p.m.
