LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell didn’t give up a goal in wins over Lafayette and Lock Haven over the weekend, and two players that helped lead the charge were honored by the conference office on Tuesday. Junior Stephanie Dressler was named the Corvias Defensive Player of the Week, while junior Emily Finn was tabbed as the Goalkeeper of the Week.
Dressler scored the game-winning goal and helped the defense limit Lafayette to just two shots in a 3-0 win Saturday to keep the team’s postseason hopes alive. She was also part of a strong defensive effort in a 1-0 double overtime victory against Lock Haven on Sunday for the Bison’s second shutout of the weekend.
Finn posted a pair of shutouts, making one save against the Leopards and five against the Bald Eagles. She now has five shutouts on the season, including three in her last four games. Finn earned the Goalkeeper of the Week award for the second time this season.
Overall, the Bison have won one Offensive Player of the Week, one Defensive Player of the Week, two Goalkeeper of the Week, and four Rookie of the Week awards from the Patriot League this season.
Bucknell closes the season with another must-win game when it travels to play Colgate on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Raiders are 1-15 overall and 0-5 in the league after a 6-1 loss to No. 19 American.
