LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell’s Brittany Willwerth earned two awards on Monday after a pair of outstanding performances in in wins over Columbia and LIU Brooklyn this past weekend. She was named the Corvias Offensive Player of the Week by the Patriot League, as well as the Bison Athlete of the Week by Bucknell Athletics.

Additionally, sophomore Lexi Quick was solid at both ends of the field and was tabbed as the Corvias Defensive Player of the Week in the Patriot League.

Willwerth exploded for five goals and two assists in a 2-0 weekend for Bucknell. The sophomore forward scored two goals in the Bison’s 4-3 victory over Columbia on Friday. She then scored three goals and had two assists in Bucknell’s 8-0 victory against LIU Brooklyn on Sunday.

Willwerth had the first hat-trick for a Bison player since Kiersten Sydnor in a 4-1 win over Yale in 2015. Her eight points against LIU Brooklyn were just one shy of tying the program record of nine points in a single game.

Quick notched two assists in the win over the Lions on Friday, and added two goals in the victory over the Blackbirds on Sunday. She also helped a defensive effort that held LIU Brooklyn to just one shot on goal.

Bucknell improved to 3-3 with the two wins. The Bison will host No. 3 Penn State on Tuesday at Graham Field. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
