EASTON, Pa. – Bucknell saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with a 1-0 loss at Lafayette in a Patriot League field hockey matchup Friday night at Rappolt Field

The Bison dropped to 6-8 overall and 2-2 in the Patriot League and now have a huge conference game against Holy Cross coming up. That game will be played at Graham Field, where the Bison are 5-2 this season.

Bucknell took the first two shots on goal of the game with attempts by junior Lexi Quick and freshman Megan Keeney, but Lafayette goalie Sarah Park stopped both as the teams battled to a scoreless tie through the first half.

The score remained tied until Lafayette scored the lone goal of the contest 10 minutes into the second half. Lisa van der Geest notched the game-winner off a penalty corner with assists from Rosie Shanks and Ellen Colbourne.

Senior Emily Finn was solid in a losing effort for the Bison. She made eight saves, recording four in each half.

Bucknell’s game against Holy Cross on Oct. 21 is scheduled for 11 a.m. Finn, Stephanie Dressler, and Emily Johnson will be honored for Senior Day prior to the game.
