LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell senior co-captain Maddy Molinari earned Corvias Patriot League Midfielder of the Week honors on Monday after a terrific performance in Saturday's season-opening 11-10 victory over Robert Morris at Graham Field.
Molinari was a force in the draw circle, claiming a career-high 10 draw controls in the game. That total was just one shy of Bonnie Buechel's school record, and Molinari became just the third Bison player to record double-digit draw controls in a game.
She was also one of nine different Bison goal-scorers in the game, and she logged a ground ball and a caused turnover as well.
Corley Simons (1G, 1A, game-ending defensive play) and Audrey Walsh (1G, 5A) were named to the Patriot League weekly honor roll in addition to Molinari, who received her first career Midfielder of the Week honor.
Now 1-0 for the third straight year, the Bison will next play at Villanova on Saturday at 3 p.m.
