VILLANOVA, Pa. – Junior attacker Eve Lukowski scored a career-high five goals, four of them coming in succession during Bucknell’s game-changing 6-0 run, leading the Bison to a 10-6 road victory over Villanova on Saturday at Villanova Stadium. The Bison are now 2-0 for the second straight season, while the Wildcats fell in their season opener.

Maddy Molinari and Audrey Walsh each tallied two goals and two assists, and Katherine Doyle and Christina Manis handed out two assists apiece for Bucknell. Goalie Jamie DeWitt had a strong game in goal with eight saves.

Bucknell trailed 3-2 after nine minutes of play, then took over the game with that six-goal surge, with five of the tallies coming before the halftime break. Walsh kicked off the run at the 19:51 mark, tying the game off a feed from Manis. Courtney Burke put the Bison ahead 2:31 later, and then Lukowski rattled off four in a row, the last coming with just two seconds left on the clock to make it 7-3 at the half.

Lukowski netted the opening goal of the second half to make it a five-goal lead, and the two teams traded goals the rest of the way.

Bucknell outshot Villanova 22-21 and led 27-24 in ground balls. The Bison scored seven goals on 11 first-half shots. Manis led the way with five ground balls, while Mary Margaret Kenney had four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Doyle paced the squad with three draw controls.

Liz Trojan recorded three goals in her first career game for the Wildcats.

Bucknell returns home next Saturday to face Hofstra at 3 p.m.
