LEWISBURG, Pa. – Cooper Dolan was selected as the Bison Athlete of the Week after leading the men's water polo team to a 9-8 overtime win over No. 19 Fordham Sunday afternoon at Kinney Natatorium.
Dolan completed his hat trick with 18 seconds remaining in the first overtime period to lift No. 16 Bucknell to its seventh-straight victory. The sophomore, who also notched an assist, was the lone Bison to enjoy a multi-goal outing.
The Bison and Rams entered their game undefeated in MAWPC play, each at 3-0. By edging Fordham (7-4, 3-1 MAWPC), Bucknell improved to 8-6 (4-0 MAWPC) and stretched its home winning streak to 11 matches.
With 35 points (25g-10a), Dolan stands third among Bison. Through just 14 games, he has already posted five more points than he did as a freshman.
Dolan is the first member of the men's water polo team to be named the Bison Athlete of the Week in 2017-18. A year ago, Rade Joksimovic garnered this honor three times.
Dolan and the Bison return to action at Kinney Natatorium this weekend, hosting Wagner (11 a.m.) and George Washington (5 p.m.) on Saturday.
