Unprecedented Number of Options to Follow the Bison in 2009-10
Aug. 29, 2009 LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell fans will have plenty of opportunities to follow their favorite Bison athletic teams in 2009-10. BucknellBison.com, the internet home of Bison athletics, is the main hub for information on Bucknell’s 27 athletic programs, but fans will have the chance to be more informed than ever with a bevy of options to stay in touch, including live video, live audio, GameTracker and Twitter. As has been the case for a number of years, BucknellBison.com will contain releases, recaps of every event, rosters, schedules, statistics, photo galleries and more. Fans can expect timely and thorough information throughout the site as well as the option to purchase photos and bid in online auctions. The video component of BucknellBison.com − Bison Vision − debuted last August with much success. Video interviews with coaches and student-athletes, features, and highlights of games will continue to be posted regularly free of charge. A number of live events will also be broadcast, including all home football and men’s and women’s basketball games. A complete schedule of live fall sport broadcasts is listed below. Archives of live games will be available shortly after the conclusion. Fans living in the Lewisburg area can listen to Bison football and men’s basketball games on Eagle 107 (107.3 WEGH), while women’s basketball contests will once again air on the Bucknell student radio station, WVBU 90.5. Select other Bison events will also air on WVBU. All audio broadcasts will also be available free of charge through SportsJuice.com. For the second consecutive year fans will be treated to GameTracker for home football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, field hockey and men’s and women’s soccer. Select away events will also be available on GameTracker. GameTracker, available through BucknellBison.com, is a free, animated, in-progress account of an event that includes graphics, play-by-play and an updating boxscore with individual stats. New this year is a Bucknell Athletics Twitter page, located at: http://twitter.com/bisonsports. Regular links to BucknellBison.com as well as periodic in-game updates and other news will be posted to Twitter. Twitter, the free social networking site where users can post and read brief updates known as "Tweets”, can be accessed through the web or on a mobile phone. Also, Bison fans can get results of games through the Bison Sports Hotline by calling 570-577-1919. Brief score updates will be provided following each contest, home and away. In addition to the multitude of ways Bucknell Athletics gives Bison fans to follow their favorite programs, often when Bucknell is the visiting team the home school will have video, audio, live statistics available. BucknellBison.com will contain links to those platforms when applicable. The first Bison athletic events of 2009-10 are this weekend with field hockey, women’s soccer and volleyball in action, all on the road. Tuesday’s men’s soccer match against La Salle at Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium will be the first home event of the new academic year.
