In her first year with the Bison, Julie Quoss worked to build the Bucknell novice program from only one eight in 2006 up to both an eight and a four for the spring 2007 season. In its debut appearance, the novice four beat 11 other crews to win the Murphy Cup Regatta and contribute to the Women's and Overall Team Points trophies. The novice eight posted wins against crews from Georgetown, William Smith, Penn State and Susquehanna throughout the year. Quoss, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in art education, was a four-year member of the Badgers' rowing team and competed at the NCAA Championships as part of the varsity eight twice. A six-time member of the Dean's List, Quoss earned a number of individual honors during her tenure as a Badger. She was a three-time UW Scholar-Athlete and made the Big Ten All-Academic Team three times as well. A USRowing Collegiate Honor Roll nominee as a sophomore, Quoss earned CRCA All-Central Region First Team honors as a junior and followed that with a second-team citation the following year. Active not only as a member of Wisconsin's team, Quoss rowed with the Camp Randall Rowing Club at the 2003 and 2005 USRowing National Championship Regatta and participated in the USRowing Pre-Elite Development Camp and the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta in 2004. A veteran counselor at the UW Junior Rowing Camp, Quoss gained coaching experience by serving as the novice volunteer assistant at Wisconsin in 2004 and 2005. The Naperville, Ill., native was the Badgers' team manager in 2005-06 and also held the role of UW Boathouse Equipment Area Coordinator. | ||||||||||||||||
