Mike Anders, Bucknell’s all-time leader in wins, enters his third season as an assistant coach with the Bison. Anders, who graduated from Bucknell in May of 1998, works closely with the Bison pitching staff. Anders posted an 8-3 record and 2.96 earned run average in helping the Bison to record their record-setting 31 wins in 1998. He struck out 73 in 85 innings and set a single-season record by allowing just 1.16 walks per nine innings. The right-hander left Bucknell with career records for wins (21), innings pitched (265), and games pitched (51). Anders was named Co-Pitcher of the Year in the Patriot League and was a second team All-ECAC selection. A native of Frederick, Maryland, Anders played minor league baseball with the Newburgh Black Diamonds in New York during the summer of 1998. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he is pursuing a masters in education from Bucknell. Anders is single, and resides in Lewisburg. | |||||||||||||||
