  • LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell head baseball coach Gene Depew and Bison players Bob Donato and B.J. LaRosa will volunteer their time at the NCAA Youth Education through Sports (YES) Baseball Clinic, held at the Creighton Sports Complex in conjunction with next month’s College World Series. The clinic will take place June 13-14.

Since its inception in 1985, the NCAA’s YES program has reached an unprecedented level of popularity. Each year, YES clinics, held at select NCAA championship events, serve nearly 10,000 youth ages 10 to 16 who engage in fun and challenging sports skill, life skill and conditioning sessions conducted by top collegiate coaches and student-athletes. YES is another way these coaches and student-athletes share the NCAA’s commitment to challenging young people to strive for higher levels of achievement in both athletics and academics.

Depew, who is one of nine college coaches who will be involved with the YES Clinic, has volunteered at the event a number of times. It will be the first time Donato, a freshman outfielder, and LaRosa, a junior catcher, represent Bucknell at the clinic. In recent years, former Bison Matt Curry (2007) and Ryan Gryskevicz (2007) as well as current infielders Ben Allen (2008) and Ben Yoder (2008) participated at the annual event along with Depew.
