June 29, 2009
LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell baseball team had 17 players named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday. The Bison, who have led the league in honor roll honorees every year since at least 2000, comprised nearly one-third of the 54-player list.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's six winter or 10 spring championship sports.
Bucknell had eight All-Patriot League selections in 2009 and five of them also appeared on the Academic Honor Roll as Trey Frahler, Dane Grandizio, Andrew Loucks, Doug Shribman and Chris Yamaguchi showed up on both lists.
