  • LEWISBURG, Pa. - Former Bucknell baseball head coach Gene Depew recently retired after 31 years in the Bison dugout. Over the final decade of his tenure he was a fixture at the NCAA Men's College World Series Youth Clinic, held in conjunction with the College World Series each year. Last month was no exception as the veteran mentor, along with recently graduated Bison Alex Cillo and Scott Reed, served as instructors at the event in Omaha, Neb.

The NCAA Youth Clinics are a community outreach program that connects kids ages 8 to 16 with selected championships and provides them with resources designed to have a lasting impact. Participants receive sport instruction from NCAA coaches and student-athletes and get valuable information on fitness, healthy lifestyles and sportsmanship.

This year's NCAA Youth Clinic took place June 16 at Creighton University.
