Bucknell Tops in Patriot League Baseball Academic Honor Roll Members
July 12, 2007 LEWISBURG, Pa. - Sixteen student-athletes from the Bucknell baseball squad were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Thursday. The Bison total was tops in the league out of 51 honor roll members, while Lehigh was second with 10. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter. Headlining the Bison list were recent-graduate Ryan Gryskevicz (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) and rising-senior Jason Buursma (Seattle, Wash./Lakeside School) who both earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II first team selections this spring. Gryskevicz, who posted a 3.78 GPA this spring as an accounting major, was named to the Lowe's Senior CLASS All-Senior All-America last month. Buursma, who recorded a 3.75 grade-point average during the spring semester, is working towards a double-major in economics and sociology. Elsewhere around the league, Holy Cross had nine honor roll members, Army and Lafayette seven and Navy two. The following are Bucknell's 2007 Patriot League Honor Roll members from the baseball team.
