ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Kyle Barker scored 18 and Robert Reeder added 14 to lead Navy past Bucknell 89-67 Wednesday, in the Patriot League opener for both teams.

Barker and Reeder each hit double figures before halftime, and the Midshipmen (8-6) used a 15-7 run in the final minutes of the half to take a 43-35 lead.

Bucknell (7-7) closed the gap to 43-39 in the opening minute of the second half, but Reeder stemmed the charge with a three-point play and Barker scored to give the Midshipmen a nine point lead, and the Bison got no closer than seven the rest of the way.

Navy, which shot 50 percent or better in each half, led by as many as 23 in the second half.

Navy's Chris Williams, who was 1-for-7 from the field in the first half, finished with 17 points, 11 in the second half. He made all eight of his free throws, and 3-of-4 from the field in the second half.

Bryan Bailey paced Bucknell with 20 points. The Bison also made 50 percent of their field goal attempts, but were guilty of 27 turnovers (six by Bailey).

Boakai Lalugba scored 14 and Brian Werner added 11 for the Bison.
