LEWISBURG, Pa. - After averaging 25.5 points in two games last week, Bucknell senior guard Bryan Bailey has been named Patriot League Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

A perennial all-star, Bailey received player-of-the-week honors for the first time in his fine career. Ironically, it came in the final week of his career.

Bailey registered his third career 30-point game when he tallied an even 30 in Bucknell's 75-73 road victory over defending Patriot League champion Holy Cross on Wednesday night. Bailey made a career-high 10 field goals in 20 attempts in that game, pulled down four rebounds and handed out four assists without a turnover.

In some tense moments late in the game, Bailey scored Bucknell's final five points and snapped a 72-all tie with a pair of free throws with 1:02 remaining in the game.

On Sunday, Bailey scored 21 points to go with a season-high five assists in a 75-64 loss at Lehigh. It was Bailey's career-high fifth-straight 20-point outing. For the week, he recorded an assist-to-turnover ratio of 9-to-1.

Despite missing 10 games due to injury this season, Bailey has still averaged 18.1 points per game, including an even 20.0 ppg., in Patriot League contests. He has also averaged 5.3 rebounds per game, which ranks eighth nationally among all Division I players 6'1" or shorter, according to STATS, Inc.

Sunday he moved into 17th place on Bucknell's all-time scoring list with 1,143 career points.

The Bison finished the regular season 12-15 overall, 8-6 in Patriot League play. Bucknell is seeded third in this weekend's Patriot League Tournament and will face sixth-seeded Army Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.
