White Team Shoots Past Blue 81-60 in Bucknell Basketball Scrimmage

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Charles Lee made 11 of 13 shots from the field and scored 29 points to lead the Bucknell "White" team past the Bucknell "Blue" 81-60 in a men's basketball intrasquad scrimmage Friday evening at Sojka Pavilion.

Freshman Justin Vegotsky made four 3-pointers and scored 17 points, while Patriot League Preseason Player of the Year Chris McNaughton added 15 for the winning side, which shot 58.7 percent (27-46) from the field. Rookie Justin Castleberry added nine points and Darren Mastropaolo had seven points and a game-high 11 rebounds for the White squad.

Four players reached double figures for the Blue team. Andrew Morrison led the way with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Morrison made his first six shots from the field and finished 6-for-7 on the night. He also added three assists.

Tarik Viaer-McClymont had 12 points, Rob Thomas 11 and Kevin Bettencourt 10 for the Blue, which was hampered by the last-minute scratch of starting point guard Abe Badmus, who is nursing a slight calf muscle pull. The Blue team shot an even 50.0 percent (25-50) from the floor.

Lee, who was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team, made all four attempts from beyond the 3-point stripe and added four assists, four steals and three rebounds.

The White squad led by just four at 23-19 but went on a 23-4 run over an eight-minute span. White led 46-25 at halftime and by as many as 26 points on two occasions in the second half.
