Chris McNaughton Named Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week

Junior Center Scored Career-High 29 Points in Loss to No. 4 Villanova

Chris McNaughton was named the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week for the second time in three weeks.

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior center Chris McNaughton (Leutershausen, Germany/Dientzenhofer Gymnasium) was named the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week for the second time in three weeks after his career-high 29-point performance against No. 4 Villanova.

In front of a record crowd of 4,433 fans at Sojka Pavilion, McNaughton eclipsed his previous career high of 23 points behind 12 of 21 shooting from the field. He also made 5 of 6 free throws and pulled down a team-high five rebounds as Bucknell fell by a 79-60 margin to Villanova.

For the season he is averaging a team-best 16.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, and he is shooting an efficient 63.6 (42-66) from the field to rank second in the Patriot League to teammate Abe Badmus. McNaughton also ranks second in the league in scoring and fourth in rebounding.

Bucknell returns to action this Saturday, Dec. 17, when it hosts Cornell at 1 p.m. at Sojka Pavilion. The contest begins a stretch where the Bison will play three home games in five days, concluding with next Wednesday's tilt with in-state foe Saint Joseph's.
