Towson 15, Bucknell 13

TOWSON, Md. (AP) - Ed Kulic kicked a 35-yard field goal with 11 seconds left as Towson came from behind twice to beat Bucknell Saturday.

Kulic's game-winning kick, the second of his career, came just over a minute after he had missed a potential game-winning 36-yard attempt.

But the Tigers (6-4, 3-3 Patriot League) used tight defense and all three of their time-outs to get the ball back from the Bison (6-4, 2-3) with 55 seconds remaining.

Val Troiani, who went 25-of-49 for 225 yards, completed three passes in 40 seconds as Towson penetrated to the Bucknell 18-yard line, setting up the game-winner.

The loss marked the second straight week Bucknell has lost on a last-second field goal, after falling to Holy Cross 10-9 last week. The Bison's four losses have come by a total of 12 points.

Bucknell took a one-point lead with 7:23 remaining on Chris Lundberg's 37-yard field goal, his second of the game. With 3:35 left, Towson began a 71-yard drive that ended with Kulic's miss from 36 yards, but the Tigers got good field position after a 20-yard punt return by Dennis Cligett to begin their winning drive.

Bucknell opened a 10-0 lead with 15 seconds left in the first quarter on a two-yard touchdown run by quarterback Lucas Phillips. The score was set up by a 68-yard pass from Phillips to Jabu Powell.

But the Tiger defense effectively shut down Bucknell after the first quarter, limiting the Bison to just 71 yards in the final three quarters. Towson climbed back into the game on a 27-yard touchdown run by Noah Reed, who rushed 26 times for 139 yards in the game.

The Tigers added a field goal and a safety to take a two-point lead into halftime.
