Bucknell Football Preseason Camp Opens Tuesday
Aug. 8, 2005 LEWISBURG, Pa. - Last November the Bucknell football team wrapped up the 2004 season with a thrilling four-game winning streak. Now, nearly nine months later, the Bison look to keep that late-season momentum going as preseason camp opens on Tuesday. Third-year head coach Tim Landis welcomes the return of 33 lettermen along with the addition of 35 newcomers. Among them are All-America defensive end Sean Conover and standout cornerback/return specialist Dante Ross, who were recently named the Patriot League's preseason defensive and special teams players of the year, respectively. With 24 seniors lost to graduation following last year's 7-4 campaign, several interesting position battles will be worth following throughout the preaseason, including at quarterback where returning sophomores Terrance Wilson and Ryan Ahern will battle a pair of talented recruits for the starting job. Tuesday's initial practice is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. Single afternoon practices will continue through Saturday, with the first two-a-day session slated for Sunday, Aug. 14. The first intrasquad scrimmage of the preseason is on tap for Thursday, Aug. 18 at 3:15 p.m. All Bucknell practices are open to the public. Practice times are subject to change due to weather or other factors. Preseason Practice Schedule
