Bucknell Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at Irish Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Bucknell men's golf team played in the one-day, 36-hole Irish Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, on Saturday, and the Bison shot 309 in both rounds to finish ninth out of nine teams.

Keita Aoki (Tokyo, Japan/St. Mary's International) shot a 1-over-par 71 in the second round after opening wiht a 76, and his T-23rd finish was the best among the Bucknell contingent.

Also for the Bison, Stuart Lindgren (Richfield, Minn./Richfield) shot 73-79, Rahul Desai (Avon, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) shot 75-77, Brian Poe (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) shot 85-83, and Jeff Pike (Rye, N.Y./Rye) had round of 90-82.

Northwestern shot 288-280 to win the team title by two shots over Notre Dame. David Lipsky of Northwestern and Eddie Peckels of Notre Dame were named co-medalists after darkness prevented a playoff.

The Bison will be back in action next weekend at the Lafayette Invitational.
