Bucknell Men's Golf in Fourth After Round One of Lafayette Invitational
April 9, 2004 CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Backed by a pair of two-over-par 74s Friday from Alex Dolle and Abbie Valentine, Bucknell's men's golf team stands in fourth place in a 24-team field after the first of two rounds of the Lafayette Invitational. The Bison shot 303 as a team and are seven strokes behind clubhouse leader Binghamton. Dolle and Valentine are tied for 11th in the standings but only two strokes out of the lead. Binghamton's Keith Hendrickson, American's Chris Schieffer, Fordham's Gabe Allen, Canisius' Rob Krajewski and Saint Francis' Eric Couture all shot 72, while another five players finished in 73. Binghamton's total of 296 is one shot better than American and four ahead of Fordham. Nipping at Bucknell's heels for fourth place are Siena (304), Connecticut (306), Duquesne (306) and Robert Morris (308). St. Bonaventure (309) and Canisius (310) round out the top 10. Also for Bucknell on Friday, Patrick Yingling tied his career best with a 76, Charlie Waddell shot 79 and Tom Lane shot 84.
