Bucknell Men's Golf Places Fifth at Rehoboth Beach Invite

REHOBOTH, Del. - Tom Lane shot 75 to lead Bucknell's men's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Rehoboth Beach Spring Invitational at Kings Creek Country Club on Monday. The event was slated for 36 holes but was shortened to 18 due to rain. The Bison shot 312 as a team, finishing behind only Maryland (295), Army (305), Columbia (306) and host George Washington (310). The Bison were five strokes clear of sixth-place Iona, which shot 317. Monmouth (319), LIU (320), Colgate (323), Mount St. Mary's (326), St. Peter's (334), La Salle (338) and Manhattan (340) rounded out the 13-team field. Lane's three-over-par 75 put him in a six-way tie for sixth place, three shots behind medalist John Eades of Maryland. Also for the Bison, Abbie Valentine shot 77 and tied for 16th. Charlie Waddell tied for 24th with a 79. Alex Dolle and Ben Pellicani both shot 81.
The Bison are scheduled to be back in action on Tuesday at the Wilkes College Quad.
