CAPE MAY, N.J. -- Rehul Desai (Avon, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) shot 79-73-78 to lead the Bucknell men's golf squad to a fifth-place finish at the Cape May Invitational, a two-day, 54-hole tournament that wrapped up Tuesday.

Desai finished in a tie for sixth place individually, seven shots behind medalist Don Bryson of team champion Niagara. Keita Aoki (Tokyo, Japan/St. Mary's International School), who shot 81-74-76, was one stroke behind Desai and tied for 10th place.

Also for Bucknell, Tom Lane (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) shot 82-80-86, Stuart Lindgren (Richfield, Minn./Richfield) shot 78-85-86 and Brian Poe (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) had rounds of 86-80-86.

With a 54-hole total of 910, Niagara ran away with the team title by 19 strokes over runner-up Longwood. Long Island (945) finished third, followed by Monmouth (950), Bucknell (953), Mount St. Mary's (955), Fordham (965), Canisius (970), Manhattan (988) and Fairleigh Dickinson (994).

Bucknell returns to action this weekend at the Patriot League Championship at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Md.
