Annapolis, Md. - This afternoon the Bucknell men's golf team concluded its spring season with a fourth place finish at the Patriot League Championship held on the US Naval Academy's golf course. The Orange and Blue shot a team total of +65 over par, 28 strokes behind the winner of the tourney, Navy (+37).

Two members of the Bucknell team played well enough during the 54-hole championship to earn all-league honors. Sophomore Jimmy Freeman (Laguna Niguel, Calif./St. Margarets) was the low medallist for Bucknell with a final score of 222, +9 over par (75-77-70). Freeman's one under 70 on the final 18-hole round thrust him into a fifth place finish overall in the tournament. Also receiving all-league honors by finishing in a tie for ninth was junior Nick Leibowitz (Danbury, Conn./Deerfield Academy) with a final score of 231, +17 over par (74-79-77). Both individuals receive All-Patriot League accolades for the first time in their careers.

Narrowly missing the all-league cut off of +17 over par, senior Ken Kosteva (Berwick, Pa./Central Columbia) closed out his collegiate career with a final round of 75 to move him into a tie for 12th at 231 (74-82-75). Freshman Charles Markey (Southampton, Bermuda/Saltus Grammar School) had his score count as the fourth for the Orange and Blue when he entered the clubhouse with a +24 over par total of 237 (76-80-81). Also competing at the league tourney for Bucknell was freshman Scott Leeder (Franklin Lakes, N.J./Ramapo) and senior David Horton (Broad Top City, Pa./Tussey Mountain) with 54-hole totals of +25 over par and +38 over par, respectively.

The Bucknell men's golf team finished fourth this year with three rounds of 299-317-301 for a score of +65 over par. Finishing behind the Orange and Blue was Army, Holy Cross, and Lafayette.
