Bucknell Men's Golf Places 12th at ECAC Championship

Valentine Finishes 26th to Lead Bison

APALACHIN, N.Y. - Abbie Valentine shot a final-round 76 and was the only Bucknell golfer to piece together two rounds in the 70s, leading the Bison to a 12th-place finish at the ECAC Championship at the Links at Hiawatha Landing.

Bucknell compiled team scores of 319 on Saturday and 320 on Sunday for a two-day composite of 639. Host Binghamton topped the 16-team field with a score of 588. The Bearcats were the only team in the field to break 300 in either round, shooting 292-296.

Valentine tied for 26th overall with his 36-hole total of 155. Tom Lane tied for 41st at 160 (81-79); Ben Pellicani tied for 45th at 161 (78-83); Rich Petroni tied for 62nd at 166 (84-82) and Alex Dolle tied for 77th at 171 (81-90).

Binghamton's Adam Fuchs, who was runner-up at the Bucknell Invitational earlier this fall, won the ECAC title shooting 70 and 76. One shot back were Binghamton's Keith Hendrickson and Joe Kunz, as well as Harvard's Andrew Klein.

Bucknell sat in 13th place after the opening 18 holes but leapfrogged Hofstra on Sunday and finished four strokes ahead of the Flying Dutchmen.

The Bison have one tournament remaining this fall, the Stabler Invitational at Lehigh next weekend.
