Bucknell Men's Golf in Second at ECAC Championship

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. -- Andrew Cohen (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) shot a 1-under-par 70 in the second round of the day, putting himself in a tie for the individual lead and his team in second place at the ECAC Men's Golf Championship at Long Island National GC. Bucknell recorded team scores of 303 and 295 on Friday and is seven shots behind Yale (303-288) with 18 holes yet to play. Cohen opened with a 75, then broke par for the third time this fall in round two. Yale's Tom McCarthy also shot 75-70, creating a two-way tie for the individual lead. Tom Upsa of Central Connecticut is one shot back. Also for Bucknell, Brian Bartow (Rye, N.Y./Rye Neck) shot 77-72, Jeff Pike (Rye, N.Y./Rye) had rounds of 75-77, Brian Poe (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) shot 76-76 and Ryan Schneiter (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) shot 80-78. Bucknell's 36-hole total of 598 is three shots clear of third-place Columbia. Duquesne (606) and Monmouth (608) round out the top five in the 15-team field. The third and final round begins on Saturday at 11 a.m.
