Bucknell Men's Golf in Ninth Place After First Round in Williamsburg
Oct. 10, 2009 WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Andrew Cohen (Mamaroneck,N.Y./Mamaroneck) posted a team-best 2-over-par 73 and the Bucknell men's golf team opened with a 307 on Saturday at the Joe Agee Invitational, hosted by William & Mary at Colonial Heritage Golf Club. The Bison are in ninth place out of 11 teams with 18 more holes yet to play on Sunday. Playing in cool, breezy conditions, Cohen shot 37 on the front nine and 36 on the back. He is tied for 11th place but is only two shots off the pace on a crowded leaderboard. Ryan Schneiter (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest), in the lineup for the first time this fall, had a solid day with a 76. Brian Bartow (Rye, N.Y./Rye Neck) and Andrew Wallisch (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) both shot 79, and Jeff Pike (Rye, N.Y./Rye) had an 84. Conor O'Brien of William & Mary, Greg Brouse of George Mason, Justin Martinson of Delaware and Bobby Fox of Longwood are all tied for the individual lead at even par (71). Longwood posted a 292 team score to take the first-round lead, but Delaware (293), Old Dominion (294), Columbia (294) and George Mason (295) are all within three strokes.
