Bucknell Men's Soccer Opens Home Schedule Tuesday Against Binghamton

LEWISBURG, Pa. - After three consecutive overtime games outside of Lewisburg, the Bucknell men's soccer team makes its home debut Tuesday afternoon against Binghamton at Varsity Soccer Field. Kickoff for the home opener is slated for 4 p.m. Bucknell (0-1-2) is coming off a 0-0 tie at Duquesne Saturday night, while Binghamton, which is 4-0-0 and has won each of its matches by identical 1-0 scores, went on the road to defeat Pittsburgh Sunday afternoon. Bucknell Men's Soccer Notebook Bucknell Notes - Six of Bucknell's last seven games have gone to overtime, including all three this year. The Bison are 1-1-4 in those matches with the lone win coming against George Mason in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last year. This is the first time in program history that at least six games in a seven-match stretch have gone to overtime. - Senior co-captain Joey Kuterbach recorded his 11th career shutout last Saturday at Duquesne. The Bison goalkeeper made three saves as he moved up to fifth place on the program's career list. He passed Paul Sinnenburg and Paul Green. Kevin Meyer, with 15 career shutouts, holds down fourth place on the list. - Bucknell has had great success playing on its home field since 2000, the second year of head coach Brendan Nash's tenure at the helm of the Bison. The squad has posted a 35-11-9 regular-season record in Lewisburg since the beginning of 2000. The Bison compiled a 5-1-2 mark last year. Among the 35 wins and nine ties have been 29 shutouts for the Bucknell defense.
- Bucknell has posted a strong 28-16-5 record in home openers since the 1958 campaign. Over the last six years the Bison are 3-2-1 in their first home contest of the season. Last year they defeated St. Bonaventure 3-1 in their first home contest. About Binghamton - Binghamton goalkeeper Jason Stenta has recorded four shutouts this season as the Bearcats have shut out their first four opponents for the first time in 20 years. - Four different Bearcats have scored goals this year: Darren McAllister, Matt Narode, Ryan Tomko and Josh Sailar.
